This is the First Printing by the Folio Society, dated 1977, of J.R.R. Tolkien's, The Lord of the Rings. Features the light grey quarter leather binding, with gilded labyrinth design by Jeff Clements. "SET IN 11 POINT BARBOU LEADED I POINT WITH LIBRA FOR DISPLAY" "AND PRINTED BY W & J MACKAY LIMITED ON GUARD BRIDGE SILVER CITY PAPER" "BOUND BY W & J MACKAY LIMITED IN QUARTER BASIL WITH SCHOLOCO COLORETA CLOTH SIDES" "BLOCKED WITH A SPECIAL DESIGN BY JEFF CLEMENTS". A Near Fine set of this scarce printing. Features maps, redrawn by an unknown artist, as endpapers in all three books. No names, inscriptions, or any other writing in any of the books. No rubbing to the delicate leather spines or soiling to the light colored cloth bindings. A very beautiful set of the First Printing by the Folio Society of this classic of fantasy literature. The set is housed in the original publishers slipcase, showing a slight bit of rubbing to the edges, no bumped corners to the case. All are very clean and bright, with no foxing, and with no writing or signatures. Beautiful looking set of the 1st style and print of the binding by the Folio Society. All prices on our listing are in US Dollars. We accept credit card payments by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express with direct processing. We also accept Google Checkout, PayPal, Money Orders, and Checks (we will hold your shipment until your check is cleared, typically 7 business days). As many of our books are quite expensive, credit card orders from new customers might require a mail or fax copy of a valid picture identification with matching address. Your payment must be received and cleared prior to shipment. Typically your books will ship within one business day after receipt of payment. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel future orders from any non-paying buyers. Buyers specifying a Missouri shipping address will be charged a 5.95% sales tax, that will be added to their book purchase. Full refund will be furnished if listing is inaccurate or shipment is damaged. Refunds for full purchase price, less shipping and insurance, for any reason. Returns need to be authorized prior to their return shipment within 14 days of your receipt. Books must be returned in the same condition as received, return shipments must be fully insured.
