Volumes have no dates, but FON on front pages of each volume is dated Christmas 1896.
The covers on both volumes are badly damaged, with Volume 1's cover attached only at the rear hinge and Volume 2's cover detached entirely, with front and back separated. The spines of both volumes are partially or largely missing. Endpapers are chipped. Pages are age tanned with some stains.
