Full navy calf, gilt titles to spine, raised bands, pastel marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, gilt 'Church Schools Company Limited' armorial device to upper. Bound by Bumpus. Forty-seven pen and ink illustrations and thirteen colour illustrations including title page in blue ink. Sunderland High School 1938 school prize plate to front endpaper to 'Jean Gray' for 'The Year's work', else internally fine. Toning to spine, wearing to spine hinges and head/tail, some light marking to boards. Near fine.
