Sobre este artículo

Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles, California, 1952; Tall quarto (10 1/2" x 14"), 144 pages; illustrated. Enthusiastic booster publication for the city of Los Angeles promoting its resources, opportunities, and agreeable climate, for purposes of attracting business activity and financial investment. Profusely illustrated with photographs by Times staff photographers depicting the many facets of Los Angeles life, from urban to seashore: Sports, Aviation, Finance, Manufacturing, Harbor, Lifestyle, Agriculture, Residential Development, etc. Includes a number of impressive full-page aerial views of downtown, and an especially imposing two-page panorama from Fairfax looking East up the Wilshire corridor. Special Motion Picture Preview section with scenes from notable 1952 film releases and full-page advertisements for upcoming movies, including "Quo Vadis," "The Greatest Show On Earth," "Viva Zapata," and "Two Tickets To Broadway," plus a full-page portrait photo of Elizabeth Taylor, chosen star of the year for her performance in "A Place In The Sun." Chock-filled with display advertisments for Los Angeles businesses, including an impressive ad for exclusive Parklabrea Towers which, much to the envy of today’s residents, offered one and two bedroom apartments for just $115 to $180 monthly. A fascinating look at a grander and happier time, when the city’s 452 square miles were occupied by only 2,000,000 people. Very Good Plus, in color photo wraps. Front cover has miniscule chips at the corners and right edge, and a 3/4" closed tear at the lower left spine. Clean, crisp, paper bright and supple. A very nice copy.
