The book and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. The rear cover of the book has some discoloration to the top third of the panel. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a previous owner's set of initials on the front endpaper in blue ink. The text includes 8 black and white illustrated plates plus a black and white frontispiece, all by Fred Pegram. Several of the illustrated plates have toning to the edges. A Murder mystery, with a bit of golfing thrown in for good measure. The front cover illustration and one of the plates feature the fairly new game. "The two men stood upon the top of a bank bordering the rough road which led to the sea.
