Hardcover. Very Good. A tidy lot of four Mary Baker Eddy-penned titles: 1) A Complete Concordance to Science and Health, With Key to the Scriptures (Boston: Allison V. Stewart, 1915, pp. 624); Miscellaneous Writings 1883-1896 (Boston: The Christian Science Publishing Society, 1896); The First Church of Christ Scientist and Miscellany (Boston: The Christian Science Publishing Society, 1913); Prose Works Other than Science and Health (Boston: The Trustees Under the Will of Mary Baker G. Eddy, n.d.). Each published in flexible black leatherette covers, some tabulated, each with silk linen ribbon bookmarks, three with gift inscriptions, some discoloration of inside flaps to two tomes. Else and withal, a good-looking, structurally sound set of four items. Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910) was a spiritual pioneer. Her work covered the disciplines of science, theology, and medicine.Mary Baker Eddy studied the Bible her entire life but claimed that, in 1866, she recovered from a life-threatening accident after reading about a purported "healing" of Jesus. She came to think that physical healing was based upon spiritual healing that was based on divine laws of God, Spirit. She then developed modes and philosophies that she believed could be applied to virtually any illness or disease. Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
