Sobre este artículo
Boston: Lee and Shepard Publishers, 1896. First Edition . Hard Back. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 5 1/4" X 6 1/2. 202 Pages. First Edition copyright in 1895 and released in 1896. There is an inscription dated February 14 1898 To xxxx on his fourteenth birthday from his sister on the front endpaper. Brown and Green cloth with black lettering and cover illustration, and brown page edges. In remarkably good condition with white pages considering it is more than 100 years old. The spine head and foot shows some wear as well as the back cover. Sewn pages are still tight and there are some instances of small brown spots throughout. This book appeared originally as a serial in eight issues of the periodical Youth's Companion. It is considerably enlarged here with several chapters or parts of chapters added to introduce scenes deemed needful for a completion of the narrative, but which could not be published in the limited space allotted to serial stories in that popular periodical. The author says that his character Ray Vancey needs further elucidation beyond the stories in the serials regarding his confession. Trowbridge acknowledges that the basis of the leading incidents were furnished by Miss Martha Bradshaw, of Orange, N.J. Contents in 32 Chapters. There are seven illustrations including the frontispiece with tissue guard. They are titled The Brookford Bank Robbery, I Guess I Shall Remember the House, Weber Came Hurrying to the Wharf, He Recognized Mrs. Gove and Her Daughters, Let It Fall On The Table with a Heavy Chink, Something Folder Under Her Apron, Come Down Here Can't You, and Take It Some One.
