Vol II: x. 347-688 including an index; 15 plates. Blue hardcover cloth binding with excessive discoloration on spine and near spine on boards from adhesive residue; spine is also darkened and chipped at extremities, and volume one is affected by a prominent adhesive removal attempt on rear board and bottom of spine. The illustrations are mainly reproductions of early paintings and engravings; two of these plates are laid-in as they are loose. A reading copy only; this set is intact and complete, but with faults..
