David Knight's two-tone illustrated endpapers, half-title and title page, head and tail pieces. Small 8vo., 103 pp.. In very good condition, clean, bright and tight. Dust-wrapper neatly repaired inside, small tears to d.w. spine head and tail. owner name neatly inside. Prolific and popular writer in his time, Paul Gallico (New York 1897- Antibes 1976) is now best remembered as the author of the Snow Goose and the Poseidon Adventure. Illustrator David Knight (1923-1982) noted for his linear pen and ink work worked both as a book and magazine illustrator and also as an architectural draughtsman. "Knight has a gift for suggesting the atmosphere of architecture and in particular that charm of the irregularity of contrasting elements..." Usherwood, 1961.
