Mare is best remembered for his works for children, particularly the poem 'The Listeners'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper dated 1953. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. There is some wear to the extremities of the dust wrapper and closed tear to the front board. There is some spotting to the inverse. To the binding, there is some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper dated 1953. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some light spotting to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
