Sobre este artículo

The sole UK printing published by the Beaumont Press, London in 1918. Number '145' of 120 copies hand printed on handmade paper, from a total edition of only 200 copies (30 copies were printed on vellum and 50 copies on cartridge paper). The BOOK is in near Fine condition. The publisher's original covers in a black and yellow design on a ground of blue paper. The printed labels to the front cover and spine are complete and clean. Very light spotting to the text-bock but the pages are clean. Mild offsetting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions. Ten striking line block illustrations in black and white from drawings by Paul Nash. 'Loyalties' is a collection of 19 poems by John Drinkwater and was the fifth book published by C.W. Beaumont at the Beaumont Press. Nash became friends with John Drinkwater in the summer of 1917 and stayed with him in July 1918 when the idea of illustrating 'Loyalties' was suggested. The book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. An exceptional copy of a very handsome production. Only the second copy we have handled. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
