Sobre este artículo
Zagreb: Lykos, 1959. Hardcover. 96p., hardcover, very good cloth boards, in a somewhat tattered dustjacket with old tape repairs. A precocious book of poetry by the young daughter of the Yugoslavian writer Ante Zemljar, which contains a typed letter in French signed by Ante, Sanja, and Vlasta. The letter, addressed by Ante to Judy Stone (then with Look Magazine, later with the SF Chronicle, and also the sister of I.F. Stone), gives her the contact address for a relative in New York and discusses the book of poetry, noting that Sanja was already working on her third collection, to include works written up to age twelve. The letter's original envelope is included. The book is inscribed by Sanja on the front endpaper, with a black and white photo of the young author pasted underneath the inscription. The family's Zagreb address is penned on the last page inside the cover. Ante Zemljar, a partisan fighter during World War II, was jailed from 1949 to 1953 as a political prisoner. He was a prolific author and critic. One of his works, Charon and Destinies, detailed the atrocities of the Slana concentration camp on the island of Pag.
