In original two-piece box. No DJ. Previous owner has attached a clear plastic wrapper. Top edges gilt. Front and foot untrimmed. No marks or damage of any kind except to one side of the bottom box, and a tear in the pastedown label of the upper box, which I have repaired by gluing. Just reading the first chapter makes me want to read it all, and to reflect upon my good fortune in having children, grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The Luxury of Children, Some Children iin Particular, Other People's Children, Parents, Strong Points of Infancy, Naughtiness, Girls and Their Education, The Exchange of Children, Children As an Incentive, Women, Real Life, The Pinch of Comfort, A Proper Place for Grandparents, Winter in the Country. I can't think of a better gift for a young person or couple who is thinking of marriage. 214 pp..
