Sobre este artículo

Franklin Center, PA, USA: Franklin Library, 1988. Limited First Edition. Full-Leather. Used; Very Good. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. SIGNED BY AUTHOR Franklin published this beautiful limited first edition of Robertson Davies' "The Lyre of Orpheus" in their trademark ornate style: the dark green full-leather boards are decorated in bright gilt plus white trim on front, back, and spine, and gilt titles appear on the ribbed spine only; all edges gilt; decorated endpapers; SIGNED by the author; wonderfully illustrated with original drawings. Davies was perhaps the best Canadian novelist, well known for the Deptford trilogy ("Fifth Business", "The Manticore", "World of Wonders") and several others. This novel is the third to feature Francis Cornish, because, says Davies, "my stories seem to come in three parts.

Sinopsis

Robertson Davies (1913-1995) had three successive careers during the time he became an internationally acclaimed author: actor, publisher, and, finally, professor at the University of Toronto. The author of twelve novels and several volumes of essays and plays, he was the first Canadian to be inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
