Mild wear to extremities with slight fading to top edge of boards. Internally clean, bright and tight. Decorative bookplate from previous owner affixed to front pastedown. In dust jacket illustrated with green curtains and white writing, price clipped. Jacket shows some mild scratching and wear (mainly at edges) with slight soiling to back cover. Ends of spine display a subtle chipping. A nice copy in great jacket. near fine Mitham A31 a. In this book of verses, as the title suggests, Service writes for the common man. In 'Dawson Ditties' he harkens back to his Klondike days and the girls of the gambling saloons and dance halls. He also pays tribute to literary figures Rex Beach and Jack London in the poem 'Two Men'. 1951
