Fabricoid, frontis, [10], 218pp., acknow., epilogue, endnotes, appendices, biblio., num. illus. from photos, index. As new in gilt stamped fabricoid, issued without dust jacket. Introduction by James A. Browning. At birth he was given the name Theophilus Brown. Later he would be known as M.T. Mason as well as Mason T. Brown, but would be referred to frequently as "Mace." He was involved with his friend Bob Lee in the bitter and bloody conflict known as the Lee-Peacock Feud, he was sheriff of Colfax County, New Mexico, and was involved in the Colfax County War. Also while sheriff of Colfax County he became acquainted with gunmen such as Clay Allison and many of the photos are of pictures of Mace and Clay together. He was quite active in the "Four Corners" of northeast Texas as well as Cimarron, Raton and Springer, New Mexico. He is buried in a lonely cemetery on a hill not far from Springer, New Mexico.
