Orig. published in Good Housekeeping Magazine & then in book format in 1953, this is the 10th printing (1966) of the FIRST EDITION, in 56 pages, with the delightful illustrations by author Bemelmans on every page in full color! Oversized hardcover has green cloth-covered boards with decoration of Madeline & the dog on front cover in darker green, green lettering to spine. Book is in VG condition: very clean, binding tight & square; pages white; colors vivid; NO writing, underlining, coloring, or highlighting, NOT ex-lib. Flaws: slightly bumped corners, mild rubbing to extremities. The unclipped DJ is VG-, showing a little more rubbing to extremities & some very tiny chips/tears. The gilt paper Caldecott medal on front cover has been removed. Looks lovely protected in new mylar cover Free. Sinopsis
