Sobre este artículo
New York: Coward-McCann, Inc, 1954. Fireside Theatre Book Club Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo (8 1/2" x 5 3/4"), black cloth with tourquoise lettering on spine, pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) depicting a scene with Julie Harris & Eli Wallach, illustrated with glossy B&W frontispiece and a few B&W stills from the performance, archival mylar-protected dust jacket (unclipped), 183 pages. Jean Anouilh [pron.: An-ouil or A-nouil & not "anwi"] (1910 - 1987) was a prominent French playwrite and screenwriter whose work ranged from sophisticated drama to absurdist farce. He is well known for Antigone (1944)--based on Sophocles' drama--which attacked the Nazified Vichy government. One of France's most prolific and important dramatists, his themes often dealt with renouncing reality for dreams, and maintaining integrity in a world of moral compromise. The adapter, Louis Kronenberger (1904 - 1980), was an American literary critic, novelist, and biographer who wrote extensively on drama and the 18th century. Starred Julie Harris as Colombe, Eli Wallach as Julien. SUPERIOR CONDITION: tight, bright, clean copy in a bright, clean dj (unclipped) with slight wear. Previous owner's name on front pastedown.
