MAGIC - THE FINAL FANTASY COLLECTION

New York: HarperCollins/HarperPrism. Besides his academic works and his science fiction, Isaac Asimov also wrote Famtasy genre fiction. According to the dust jacket this book is "his final original collection, containing all of his uncollected fantasy stories that have never before appeared in book form." It was produced several years after Asimov's death by permission of his estate. It is about 5 3/4 x 81/2 inches, 275 pages including copyright statements for individual stories at the end. That said, there is nothing on the dj or in this copy of the book to indicate the book's edition or printing. It may be an advance review copy or a first hardcover edition. Or, noting that the title page and copyright page state the book was produced by HarperPrism, the HarperCollins paperback divisiion, it may be an advance copy of a book club edition. The book itself is in excellent condition, appears unread with no noticeable or significant flaws or damage to its text or its plain black paper-covered boards with silver lettering on the spine.. So is the dustjacket which displays a simple grey and black design on the front panel and blue background and short excerpt from one of the stories on the back. It may take correspondence with the estatee and/or HarperCollins to resolve the book's origin. In the meantime, the stories speak and speak very well for themselves. . Fine. Hardcover. 1996.
