New York: Knopf, 1962. This attractive volume is in Near Fine condition, with a Very Good unclipped dust jacket. (Click on photo.) Although The Magic Jacket was originally published in 1923, this edition was the first to use charming illustrations by Paul Kennedy and to include nine other illustrated children's stories by de la Mare, including The Scarecrow, Maria-Fly, Alice's Grandmother, The Old Lion, Miss Jemima, The Riddle, Lucy, Visitors, and Broomsticks.The book is bound in blue covers with a circular gilt illustration on the front panel, gilt spine lettering and a design, and top-edge yellow stain. The clean, bright copy is tightly bound and includes 277 pages, with no inscriptions from former owners. The unclipped dust jacket has some edge rubbing, particularly around the spine tips. The book measures 6 by 8 1/2 inches. . Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. Illus. by Paul Kennedy. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
