Sobre este artículo

Toronto: McClelland & Stewart. Good. 1929. First Edition. Hardcover. viii, 328 p. 20 cm. Copyright date only. Warwick Bros. & Rutter, Toronto listed as printers on last page. Bound in green cloth with paste-down illustration on upper board. Rear hinge has cracks but is still holding well. Loss of cloth at the head of the spine, which affects the title. Spine is faded and gilt gone from its titles. Corners are worn through, with rubbing and small spot of wear through on the edges. The lower board has some spotting. Colour pastedown illustration is still bright, and has a few light scratch marks. The text block edges are heavily foxed, with a small stain on the fore-edge. Inside, there is a private library ownership label on the front pastedown endpaper and several dates written on the free endpaper, some of which are erased but still visible. Rear endpapers have a tape mark and overall discoloration. There is a small amount of foxing on the preliminary pages, and a tiny stain on the frontispiece title. Tissue guard also has a small stain and is rippled. The text pages themselves are still generally clean, with occasional margin soil, and a few leaves having a dog-eared corner. One leaf has a short closed edge tear. Meets first Canadian edition points of F. And J. Lechowick. .

Sinopsis

Magic for Marigold (1929) is a novel written by L. M. Montgomery. It is about a young girl, Marigold Lesley, who grew up in Cloud of Spruce as the only child in the well-to-do family. Marigold's father died before she was born, but she had a loving but "bossed" mother, steely Young Grandmother, shrewd Old Grandmother, former sailor Uncle Klondike, and former doctor Aunt Marigold who had saved Marigold's life and had hence become her namesake and aunt.
