First printing Near fine in its original decorated gray cloth covered boards with black text and decorations on the spine and with a printed paper label on the front board which no wear or damage. An octavo of 9 by 6 1/2 with the cloth on the lower edges of the boards worn through in two small areas and with the cloth at the head and heel of the spine crimped inward. Without its issued dust jacket. This copy conforms to Binding A as per Paul R. Bienvenue's incredibly well document and researched bibliography: The Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum & Oz. 242 pages of text and illustrated with a black and white frontispiece and black and white vignettes throughout from drawings by Frank Kramer. A very bright and clean copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind. (Bienvenue, p.131)
