Whitstable: By the Author, 1999. A man of wealth and distinction, Francis bennett Goldney became the honorary director and curator of Canterbury's Royal Museum in 1898. Politically ambitious he became Mayor of Canterbury in 1905 and MP in 1910. In 1907 he was alsp appointed Athlone Pursuivant to the Office of Arms in Dublin.
