Calcutta, India: Signet Press. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1949. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Quarter bound with a black cloth spine with gilt titling and decorated paper covered boards. No dust-jacket possibly as issued? . The corners and edges of the paper boards are worn and rubbed, particularly to the corners, o/w the covers are clean ans sound - all hinges tight. Some pale spotting to the page fore-edges - negligible. Internally Excellent with NO Inscriptions or Marks. 171 pages PLUS 26 unpaginated pages of 'Art insets' which are mainly photo-illustrations with some captions/text printed on glossy paper, and a couple of small line drawings in the text. Lacks I illustration near the end (page 150) but I can see no sign of it having been removed? Perhaps a printing error? A very scarce original 1949 publication with the proceeds of the publication at that time, going to the Ghandi Memorial Fund. Published in the year after his Assassination. AT FAULT, as one illustration called for is not present, as noted above. See Images. ; Small 4to 9" - 10" tall .
