FIRST EDITION (1912). 12 delightful colour plates of children, printed 1 side only, each facing a verse in a decorated black and white frame, full page black and white title illustration. Beautifully dressed children in old fashioned style go through the seasons and festivals from May to Christmas. 235 x 175 mm, 9¼ x 7 inches, buff cloth with pretty mounted coloured illustration and red lettering to upper cover. Spine slightly darkened, covers very slightly marked, endpapers slightly spotted, neat early inscription on front endpaper. Some fingermarking to a few margins, 5 short closed tears to lower margins, all repaired, 1 just affecting edge of image, tiny grazed patch in 2 facing inner corners.
