Sobre este artículo

Charlottesville, VA: University of Virginia Press, 2003 University of Virginia Press, Charlottesville, VA. 2003. Hardcover. First Edition/First Printing by Line Number. Jeffersonian America Series. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Near Fine; scant shelfwear. DJ: Near Fine; light superficial scratching. Blue cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 250 pp 8vo. Focusing on the Tucker family, this book shows the changes that came to Revolutionary America in the aftermath of the Revolution. In the midst of this social upheaval, St. George Tucker sold his plantation and moved on, abandoning the liberal principles and enlightened rationalism of the Revolution for a romanticism girded by deep social conservatism. This book shows the complex process by which the world of Washington and Jefferson evolved into the antebellum society of Edmund Ruffin and Thomas Dew. A clean very presentable copy.
