Sobre este artículo

[African American Film] Biopic film Malcolm X by director Spike Lee that dfealth with everything from his pilgrimage to Mecca to his assassination. Archive of 3 original vintage silver gelatin photos used as lobby cards in movie theaters. Warner Bros., 1992. All measure 8" x 10" and are in glossy black and white. Malcolm X dramatizes key events in Malcolm X's life: his criminal career, his incarceration, his conversion to Islam, his ministry as a member of the Nation of Islam and his later falling out with the organization, his marriage to Betty X, his pilgrimage to Mecca and reevaluation of his views concerning whites and his assassination on February 21, 1965. . It stars Denzel Washington as Malcolm X and was directed by Black filmmaker Spike Lee. Review Roger Ebert ranked the film No. 1 on his 1992 list and wrote: "Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" is one of the great screen biographies, celebrating the whole sweep of an American life that began in sorrow and bottomed out on the streets and in prison before its hero reinvented himself." The production was considered controversial long before filming began. The crux of the controversy was Malcolm X's denunciation of whites before he undertook his hajj. A month before the film was released, Lee asked that media outlets send black journalists to interview him. The request proved controversial. While it was common practice for celebrities to pick interviewers who were known to be sympathetic to them, it was the first time in many years in which race had been used as a qualification. Photos feature images of Washington in iconic scenes from the film, including a photo of Washington addressing residents of Harlem outside the Apollo Theater. All photos are in very good condition.
