"A British immigrant, Charles Leigh James (1845-1911) was described by Voltairine de Cleyre as 'the most learned of American Anarchists'" *Buhle p. 33. Devaldès was a French individualist anarchist and neo-Malthusian who was arrested for refusing service in World War I.
