"Mame" is a musical based on the 1955 novel Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis and the 1956 Broadway play by Lawrence and Lee. This play is set in New York City, and spans the Great Depression and World War II. It focuses on the eccentric Mame Dennis whose famous motto is "Life is a banquet and most poor sons of bitches are starving to death". Mame's life is interrupted by her late brother's son who comes to live with her as they cope the Depression in a series of adventures.
