Sobre este artículo
New York: Henry Holt, 1921. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR on front endpage "ToThe Honorable Will H. Hays, Postmaster General, with the compliments of the author." Brig. General Edward Munson, M.D., as an assistant to the Surgeon General, was one of the surgeons who attended President William McKinley after he was wounded by an assassin. While Professor of Military Hygiene at the Army Service School in Washington, in 1912, Dr. Munson designed the military field shoe, the boon to infantrymen, variously known as the "Munson Last," the "hobnail brogan" of World War I, and the "G.I. shoe" of World War II. General Munson wrote several books on Army hygiene, including the authoritative treatise, The Soldier's Foot and the Military Shoe.In 1917 he was promoted to Colonel and thereafter developed the system of field training for medical troops. In 1919 he returned to the general staff in Washington and was assigned to organize the Morale Section, a branch unprecedented in the United States Army. During World War II this branch became the Army Information Branch. For this work he received the Distinguished Service Medal and the Companion Order of the Bath of the British Army. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Will H. Hays managed Warren G. Hardings successful campaign for the Presidency of the U.S. and was subsequently appointed Postmaster General. After a year in that position, he resigned to become most famously known as the first President of Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA), which under his guidance published a blacklist of actors and workers studios should not hire, inserted moral clauses into actors' contracts, and published an informal list of suggested guidelines for film producers. A unique Association Copy. Near Fine, top edge of page block dusty. . SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. Presentation Copy.
