1786. Near Fine/No Jacket. Manorial document. A VERY, VERY RARE Manorial Document from 1786. Handwritten in English (Latin was discarded as a legal language in these documents in 1734). Although a very common transaction at the time (within the next 100 years 'Surrender of Uses' would become Leasehold agreements), almost all copies (for copies were the norm) are held in County and other institutional Record Offices. Hence, this is a rare chance to access this Manorial document. The quality of the paper (folded - written on three sides) is excellent. It is fresh, very clean and exquisitely healthy. The handwriting is clear, confident, fresh. The document is in stunning condition - especially when one takes the age into account. The document is signed by Ann Slater and two witnesses (one of whom made his mark - a 'X'). All most thrillingly fascinating and pleasing. fk.
