UK: Bentley, 1837. First Edition . Three-Quarter Leather. Fine. 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall. 2nd imp 1837. The second printing of this first one volume edition and the first illustrated edition with a frontispiece illustration and a smaller vignette on the engraved title. Richard Bentley first published this work as part of his Standard Novels series in 1833, and this copy is rare in that it contains the Standard Novels title page as well as the vignette title page for the book. Fifth edition overall. Recently bound in three quarter leather and hand marbled boards. Book is fine and very bright. Contents are average with light marking and foxing to some pages. Title page and engraving very darkened and foxed. More images can be taken upon request. Ref12245 ####14532
Sinopsis
Mansfield Park is a novel by Jane Austen, written at Chawton Cottage between 1812 and 1814. It was published in July 1814 by Thomas Egerton, who published Jane Austen's two earlier novels, Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. When the novel reached a second edition, its publication was taken over by John Murray, who also published its successor, Emma.
