G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co, 1880. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover boards with blindstamped decorative frames, and gilt lettering to front board, color map folded within. Some splitting to endpapers at internal hinge, map itself is bright & clean with no tears. A lovely example, priced low because we're on the wrong coast!

Scale of 12 miles per inch. Outline color by state, with railroads colored in red and blue. Shows eastern United States and includes relief by hachures, drainage, cities and towns, county boundaries, and the railroad network in red. From Norfolk to Louisville. Includes: Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Timber and coal regions are noted, along with the rivers, mountains, cities, and other details. Modelski, LC U.S. railroad maps, 546.

G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co. Used - Very Good. 1865. Hand-colored map, cloth-backed; folding in orig. cloth covers, dec. in gilt and blind (covers rather rubbed and age-dulled; corners bumped.). Orig. silk ties still present. In addition to the main suvject of the map, there are the following insets: Map of the Americas, Africa and a portion of Europe, showing the Atlantic and part of the Pacific oceans -- New Orleans and delta of the Mississippi, Louisiana -- Mobile Harbor, Alabama -- Key West and Tortugas, Florida Reefs -- Wilmington and vicinity, N.
