The boards are scruffy with much wear, scuffing, marks, depreciation. However, they are steady and comfortable. The contents have much evidence of use throughout. There are creases, there is wear to the edges about the edges, there are some handling and user marks. However, the contents are certain, confident, more than competent, alert. Volume II: 1933 edition, reprinted in 1944. A steady copy. The navy blue boards have wear about all edges and corners and seams from shelving and use. The spine has wear from shelving to the head and foot. The boards are steady and sound. The contents are mild-mannered. The contents have pencilled annotations. From thereon the pages are smart, tidy, pleasingly clear and clean, competent, assured.
