The leather boards are a little bowed; spine top chipped; the detached silk ribbon is laid in. Ridges on the spine accomodate actual binding cords, and the marbled endpapers are in the 18th-century style. Fancy giltwork on spine and edges; red chalk page edges (rubbed on top). Pages are very clean and the folding frontispiece plate (showing the parts of a horse, signed 'Lebas F.') is near fine. A manual for horsemen. French text; 91 pp. + 'Table des Matieres' + 'Approbation' and 'Privilege du Roy'.
