Paris: Libraire de Firmin Didot Fréres, Fils et Cie., 1860-1880., 1860-1880.. - Quarto, 10-5/8 inches high by 7-3/4 inches wide. 14 volumes bound in three-quarter brown morocco & cloth, titled in gilt with raised bands on the spines, including the "octavo replacement volume" which has been bound into a similar binding of the same size as the other large paper volumes. The endpapers are marbled and several pages of ruled paper intended for additional notes are bound in at the front and rear of each volume. The top edges are gilt. The covers are slightly rubbed & scuffed with some light spotting. The hinges of many of the large paper volumes have been reinforced with brown cloth tape. However, the hinges of volume 4, part 2 were not reinforced and the front hinge is cracked with the spine separated from the text block. A substantial set with deckle-edged pages.Very good.

This large paper subscriber's set was printed for "Sir Holbein (De Londres)" and numbered "95" (from an unstated limitation) in Volume 1, Part 1.

Un nouveau dictionnaire bibliographique dans lequel sont décrits les livres rares, précieux, singuliers, et aussi les ouvrages les plus estimés en tout genre, qui ont paru tant dans les langues anciennes que dan les principals langues modernes, depuis l'origine de l'imprimerie jusqu'à nos jours; avec l'historie des différentes éditions qui en ont été faites; des renseignements nécessaires pour reconnoitre les contrefaçons, et collationner les anciens livres. On y a joint une concordance des prix auxquels une partie de ces objets ont été portés dans les ventes publiques faites en France, en Angleterre et ailleurs, depuis près d'un siècle, ainsi que l'appréciation approximative des livres anciens qui se recontrent fréquemment dans le commerce; 2.
