Copper engraved map showing the new territory of British Florida as of 1763. Map depicts the provinces of East and West Florida as they emerged following the Treaty of Paris that ended the French and Indian War. Extends from New Orleans and Mississippi River east to the Bahamas, north as far as Savannah and south to Cuba. In an effort to show the Everglades, the Florida peninsula is shown as a series of islands. Shows political boundaries, cities, forts, canals, rivers, swamps and American Indian tribes. Includes inset of Pensacola Harbor. "Gent. Mag."--Top margin. Lower right inside neat line --"J. Gibson, sculp." Date and publisher from periodical title page.
