Topography is beautifully rendered by hachure, and county divisions are hand colored. Cities, rivers, towns, lakes, mountains, and roads are labeled. Insets show The Orkney Islands and The Shetland Islands. <br> <br> William Faden (1750-1836) was an 18th century English cartographer, engraver mapseller and publisher and 'Geographer to His Majesty & to his H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, George III & George IV. One of these maps is owned by the Queen of England in the Royal collection.<br> <Br> James Wyld (1812-1887) was a distinguished British mapmaker known for producing maps and globes. He served as Geographer to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.<br/> <br/>
