First Edition. Fine. Four pieces of American twentieth century poet Marianne Moore ephemera: a) TLS from Marianne Moore dated July 8, 1965 to Midwest Quarterly editor Gene de Gruson: "It is kind of you to invite me to send you a poem but a contract restricts me to offering verse to just one magazine; and any writing I do, I seem to get into print with nothing left to find a home for. I am sure the Midwest quarterly would have (hand-written insertion "for me") a congenial atmosphere but am over-pressed attempting a book review on too short notice, (hand-written revisions here changing last two sentences into one) stopping to explain my situation that I may not hamper you by laggard answer. With her signature. On stationery printed with her 260 Cumberland Street, Brooklyn, New York address where she lived from 1929-1965. This letter thus written the year before she moved to Greenwich Village. Includes typed envelope. Fine. b) Catalogue of exhibition of paintings by artist William Kienbusch held at Krauschaar Galleries, New York Jan 28 to Feb 16, 1963. Descriptive text by Marianne Moore. Toning and light foxing along edges. Very Good. c) An 8 x 10 glossy photograph of Marianne Moore taken in the Phoenix Bookshop in 1967 on the occasion of her 80th birthday by Robert A. Wilson. Signed by Wilson at the bottom right corner of the photograph. The Phoenix Bookshop was a renowned New York bookshop and a centre of literary activity particularly for the Beat poets and the writers of the Black Mountain School. Robert A. Wilson was the third proprietor of the Phoenix and was a renowned author and bibliographer. He corresponded regularly with Moore during the 1950's through to the year of her death in 1972. Fine. d) Postcard of Richard Avedon's photograph of Marianne Moore in New York City in 1958 in which she wears her famous black tri-corn hat. Fine. A superb addition to the Marianne Moore collection.

Redlands, California: Pure Gold, [1955]. Stapled wraps. Very good. [12p.] Small chips to wrap edges. The Mutual Orange Distributors (MOD) was founded in Redlands, California, in 1906 as a cooperative marketing association representing citrus growers in California. Within a few years, the coop included citrus growers in western Arizona. In 1955, MOD changed its name to Pure Gold, originally the brand name for fruit grown by the approximately 2,500 MOD growers. Sunkist took over the Pure Gold trademark when the co-op closed in 1987 due to housing developments replacing the citrus fields and the shrinking number of packing plants. This booklet explains the history of the citrus-growing culture in California and Arizona and provides information on the variety of oranges, lemons, and grapefruit grown and their cultivation and packaging. A map on the back shows the regions represented by the Pure Gold cooperative. Scarce, none located in OCLC. B&w illustrations and halftone photographs. (11"x8-1/2")
