Pichard was a French comics artist noted for work in the 1960-70s, illustrating women in various stages of bondage, flagellation, intricate apparatuses, role-playing. Here, his trademark gothic look decorates a tales involving Marie-Gabrielle, always in the wrong place at the wrong time, in 19th century France. From the collection of Andrew J. Offutt, a science fiction, fantasy, erotica author noted for "Conan"-themed novels, wrote 100s of erotic novels as John Cleve, Turk Winter, John Denis, Opal Andrews, etc.; Winter was a name attached to his more violent novels, including the "Blunder Broad" comics series he produced w/ Eric Stanton, akin to bondage themes of Pichard.
