Sobre este artículo
Amsterdam: J.M. Schalekamp, 1896. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good-. Large folio (16.75 inches), bound in three-quarter paper vellum and blue cloth with lettering and vignette in gilt. 44 pp + 15 plates (including 2 photogravures, 3 autotypes, and 8 original etchings by Phillipe Zilkcen after the brothers Maris). Number 17 of 190 copies on "papier du Marais" (another 10 copies were printed on Japon, with pencil-signed etchings). Vellum portion of boards moderately dust soiled, light scattered foxing, pale dampstain visible near gutter extending about two inches from the base of the spine -- not affecting text or images, which are quite clean. Binding tight. Jacob, Matthijs, and Willem Maris were nineteenth century Dutch painters who formed what has become known as the Hague School and are credited with bringing Impressionism to the Netherlands.
