Sobre este artículo
London: Macmillan and Co. , 1918. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. 7.5" by 5". None . A lovely first UK edition of Edith Wharton's war tale, in the extremely scarce first edition dust wrapper, unclipped. Edith Wharton's tale of war follows the story of teenager Try Belknap as he enlists as a soldier in order to defend France during the First Battle of Marne of the First World War. A novel that reveals the grim realities of war through the rose-tinted lenses of the character, who filters reality due to his heroic ambitions. The first edition of 1918 in the extremely scarce, unclipped early dust wrapper, which remained well-preserved. Edith Wharton was an American author, the first woman to receive a Pulitzer Prize in Literature. She was inducted in the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1996. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only. The dust wrapper is smart and unclipped, with some shelf wear and chipping, some minor creasing to the front wrap and minimal soiling to the rear as well as a minor previous owner's inscription to the front fly leaf. The spine of the wraps is slightly sunned and internally tape-repaired by a previous owner, who also internally tape-repaired the extremities, not affecting the externals. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Fine
