Sobre este artículo

London: Seeley & Co. Good with no dust jacket. 1897. First Edition. Hardcover. Maroon Red pictorial boards with gilt titling/decoration. The spine is sound BUT is very rubbed/faded/sunned/scraped and mottled = Poor but sound. The Front & Rear boards and the gilt titling/decoration, however, have a few marks but are overall Very Good. Internally, there is a subscription label on front pastedown (presume from a Private Library as it mentions "No Deposit Required from Residents"). No Inscriptions or other Markings. A little foxing and a couple of neat closed tears (one repaired tear to the blank foot of the title page). Otherwise the book is actually VERY clean and tight, just a little light foxing (light brown spotting) here and there. Page fore-edges browned. B/W Frontispiece of a 'Hindoo Bride and Bridegroom' protected with a tissue guard. With many other b/w illustrations (23 further plates) all taken from photographs and drawings of marriages in Europe and throughout the world including those of Jews, Mormons, the Druse, Dyaks, Melanesians, Hindoos, etc..... Inner paper hinges splitting very slightly - but still very tight. (xii) + 348 pp. Index. In protective plastic film. Overall this would have been a Near VG copy of the ORIGINAL1897 Edition had it not been for the poor spine - which seems to be a general fault with this book? . Internally this is generally a Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
