Sobre este artículo
Phila PA: Peterson's, 1900. Uncertain . Hardcover. Poor/None. An unusual copy, bi-columnar format. With a bit of research I have located no similar items. Strongly suspect this to be a pirate edition from twixt 1885 and 1905, no date or copyright page per se are seen in text. Suppose, based on this it is possible this is first US appearance? (A client writes and advises that this is the version 1st serialized in the Family Herald.) Some ads appear at the back of the book for the T.B. Peterson line of publications. While sound and readable, the purchaser should imagine all the afflictions that books are heir to. . .Blind stamped hard cover boards are speckled in various ways, quite bumped or text shaped. Library label inside front cover, number penned in Spencerian red pencil first endsheet and this sheet has a two postage stamp size abrasion/torn area, lower down. Binding is sound, text complete at 372 plus pages. Text notably age darkened with edge speckles. This listing should not be construed as listing all flaws, though the high (low) points have been covered, foto coming. (A customer advises that this is the Family Herald translation as first serialized there, Orlean referenced on first page. ) *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*
