Synopsis: One night Mary Fehr, a little farm girl in Northern British Columbia, gets out of bed to watch the northern lights flash across the sky. As she listens carefully, she hears the crackling sound they sometimes make, and believes the next day will bring something special. As she and her family go through the farm chores next day, she remains hopeful. Finally, luck comes to her in the form of a little wolf-pup. Her father forbids her to keep it, but the little pup has a mind of its own".
