Numerous advertisements throughout text and to covers inside and out. Pictorial card wraps depicting the interior of the church. Cords replaced. Covers rubbed to edge and surface soiled, some nicks & creases. Ownership inscription to front cover. Further ownership inscription with address to first leaf, and formula for leg ointment to rear in the same hand; a few minor marks throughout text. A Very Good copy in Good covers. "A collection of over 270 well tested recipes" compiled by the Promoters from many named donors, to raise money for the Church Building Fund at St. Mary's Church Monkseaton. The recipes are arranged by type such as Meats, Preserves and Bread and Cakes, and include measurements in pounds and ounces. Many local business adverts, printed to the verso of each leaf up until pp52.
