Sobre este artículo

Gebbie & Co.. Collectible - Very Good. Philadelphia: Gebbie & Co., 1881 & 1882. Imperial Edition. No additional printings. Volumes 1 & 2. Half-leather elephant folios with black leather and dark brown textured cloth boards. Elaborate gilt titling to front boards, and gilt lettering and four devices each to spine. Five raised bands per spine are also decorated with gilt, and spine tips are decorated with stamped gilt bands. Half-leather sections are outlined in gilt, and all edges gilt. Inconsistent pagination. 100 photogravures and 104 woodcuts total, and beautifully illustrated drop caps throughout. Limited edition, number 276/1000. Volume one is very good, with a two-inch tear to cloth of front board. Front joint cracked near spine tips, and foot of spine is chipped. Rear board lightly soiled and rear leather lightly scuffed. Edges lightly worn, and cornres very gently bumped and frayed. Light foxing throughout, and frontispiece tissue guard creased. Narrow two-inch dampstain to bottom edge of about last 20 pages. Volume 2 is near-fine with very lightly worn spine tips, and corners gently bumped and frayed. Small tear to rear board cloth. Small tear to front free endpaper, and light foxing throughout. The List of Subscribers in volume one indicates that copy 276 was purchased by Ezra H. Ripple, a Pennsylvania businessman, Civil War veteran, and former mayor of Scranton. Inquire if you need further information. ITEM IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES.

Sobre Wonder Book

With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children\'s paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost \"in the stacks\" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as \"1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores\", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan.
