Tokyo: Shimbi Shoin, 1904. First Edition. hardcover. Fine in worn but complete cases. Two large folio (11" x 16-3/4") volumes bound in lovely pictorial silk over boards tied with purple string and housed in folding slipcases with ivory clasps. Of a total of 2000 copies, the first volume is #90 and the second #44, both SIGNED by the editor. Illustrated with 100 full-page black-and-white collotype plates with descriptive text in English. Motonobu (1476 - 1559) was a Japanese painter and calligrapher, a member of the Kano school of painting.
