In other words, this is a pre-publication, presentation copy, with letter of provenance tipped in. In addition, written in pencil on front free endpaper is this notation: "S. D. H. [initials of recipient] from Lunette [part of legal name of author. No. A2" Could this be a handwritten inscription by the author, herself? Author was a resident of Limerick, Maine, and wrote and staged a play at Laughing Loon Camp at East Waterboro, Maine. Book is in pristine condition. Scarce work, and rare in this edition. An additional note: because this is a pre-publication copy it may explain why there is no dustjacket, but yet is in as-new condition. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 240 pages .
