The text is illustrated with numerous formulae. Beige coloured cloth covered boards with dark green coloured titles to the back strip. A classic text in the work of mathematical foundations for statistical mechanics, this being the first American edition. This book is an ex-library copy: – from the Defence Research Laboratories Library. Library stamp, along with cancellation stamp, to the free front end page and library stamp to the title page. Red cancelled stamp to the rear three end page. Library barcode to the lower left hand corner of the title page and top left hand corner of the front panel. Due back pocket is still attached to the rear paste-down. The number "5536" has been placed to the corners of the end pages and to the top right hand corner of the title page. Library sticker to the lower edge of the back strip. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners. There is a small tear to the top left hand corner of the back strip. The top edge of the rear panel has become a little eroded. Handling marks and sunning to the book panels with age toning of the text block edges and lighter age toning of the pages. First American Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
